I believe the general premise of the video is that everyone pays too much attention to things that don't matter in the world and are on devices all day long and don't see things that are happening around them because they are paying too much attention to they're devices. The end of the video shows hundreds of people all walking right off the edge of a cliff with phones in they're hand because they are not paying attention to they're surroundings.
Yes, I believe it is a cautionary story showing how if you do not pay attention to your surroundings that it can lead to bad consequences.
